Choosing a coaching center is often a ₹1–4 lakh decision made in a single counselling-desk visit. Here's the checklist that protects you.

1. Verify the faculty, not the brochure

Ask who will actually teach your child's batch — not the star faculty on the hoarding. Ask for their qualification and years of experience, then ask to sit in on one live class.

2. Demand verifiable results

"500+ selections" means nothing without context. Ask: How many students were enrolled that year? From this specific branch? Can you share topper roll numbers? Genuine institutes answer comfortably.

3. Check the real batch size

A batch of 100+ students means your child gets no individual attention regardless of teacher quality. Under 40 is good; under 25 is excellent. Visit during a running class to count for yourself.

4. Get the full fee in writing

Ask for the all-inclusive figure: tuition, admission fee, study material, test series, and taxes. Ask about the refund policy in writing — especially what happens if your child leaves after one month.

5. Probe the doubt-support system

The difference between average and great coaching is what happens after class. Is there a daily doubt counter? Dedicated doubt faculty? Or just "ask the teacher if you can catch them"?

6. Look at the test series quality

Weekly tests should mimic the real exam pattern and come with rank analysis, not just marks. Ask to see a sample test report.
